The Lumia 920 boasts a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm SnapDragon S4 processor and 1GB of RAM. Its 8.7 Megapixel comes with Nokia PureView advanced optical image stabilization for blur-free images, Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED flash, and supports Full HD 1080/30p video recording. The 1.2 Megapixel front camera also does 720p HD video capture. The handset gets a large 2000mAh battery and supports Qi wireless charging. With 32GB onboard storage, the Lumia 920 has no microSD slot for expansion. Bluetooth 3.1, NFC, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n. GPS/AGPS completes the Windows Phone.
Like the Lumia 820, the 920 runs Windows Phone 8, featuring Internet Explorer web browser, Microsoft Office and Nokia City Lens. It will be available in LTE and HSPA+ variants and will be shipped later this year in yellow, red, grey, white and black colors.

MultiMedia - Popcorn Hour A-400 Network Media Player

Syabas Technology introduces new Popcorn Hour media player, the A-400. Utilizing Sigma Design’s SMP8911 dual-core 800Mhz processor, the player is able to deliver smooth playback of Full HD video and Blu-ray 3D content. It also includes VXP video processing to offer a range of studio-level features such as adaptive deinterlacing, adaptive debanding, and adaptive contrast enhancement.
Popcorn Hour’s new player has room for an internal 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch hard drive for storing media files and use as a network strorage device. The A-400 connects to the Internet via built-in Gigabit Ethernet port or WiFi dongle and offers access to Syabas Apps Market, containing over 90 free and premium TV apps for additional media content from the web. It has HDMI 1.4 output, a SD card slot and an eSATA port.
The Popcorn Hour A-400 is priced at Euro 289.

Storage - Synology DiskStation DS413j 4-bay NAS Server

Synology® Inc. today launched DiskStation DS413, a 4-bay NAS server that incorporates the latest technologies to minimise power consumption. It is well-suited for small and medium-sized businesses to centralize data backups and synchronise files across different platforms with minimum time and effort.

The DS413j uses Synology’s new DiskStation Manager 4.1 operating system. It includes a Web Assistant that guides users to complete the system installation in a few clicks, and QuickConnect that allows users to easily extend the coverage of DS413j to the Internet without router configuration. The budget-friendly NAS has one Gigabit Ethernet LAN port and two USB ports for connecting external hard drives or printers for sharing over the network. It comes with built-in media server for media content streaming and supports DLNA/UPnP, and has Download Station to handle BT, FTP, HTTP, eMule, and NZB download jobs without a PC.
Of course, youc can use the DiskStation DS413j for backup. Windows PC users can use the free Synology Data Replicator software, while Mac users can simply use Apple Time Machine. The server is energy efficient, consuming only 31.56 watts and 7.68 watts during full operation and HDD hibernation respectively.

 JBLlaunches three new ultraportable speakers designed for users to enjoy music from smartphone or tablet. The JBL Flip and JBL Micro Wireless both use Bluetooth for wireless music streaming from Bluetooth-enabled devices such as iPhone/iPad, Android smartphone/tablet, while the Micro II is a wired model. Compact enough to easily fit into a backpack or back pocket, all three speakers have rechargeable battery that offers up to five hours of playing time.

 The Flip features two high-performance drivers to deliver 2 x 5W output and digital signal processing for enhanced sound quality. It comes with a built-in microphone for hands-free calling. You can place the Flip horizontally to use it like a small speaker system or flip it  upright on a desktop for room-filling sound.

The Micro Wireless, equipped with 40mm drivers for quality sound, also use Bluetooth for wireless music streaming, and has built-in audio cable eith a Smart-cable design for connecting to any device with 3.5mm audio jack. The Micro II is basically the wired, Bluetooth-less version of the Micro Wireless. It gets the same built-in audio cable for connecting audio sources with 3.5mm jack. Both of them can be daisy-chained to other JBL Micro speakers for bigger sound.

All these JBL speakers have built-in bass port deliver a deep, more resonant sound than comparably sized portable speakers. The Flip is priced at $99, while the Micro Wireless and Micro II are priced at $59 and $39, respectively.

Nokia Lumia 820 gets 4.3-inch ClearBlack OLED, Changeable Shell, Qi Wireless Charging, Windows Phone 8

Nokia announced the Lumia 820 mid-range smartphone running the Windows Phone 8 operating system. The handset has a uninody look and feel and and features an exchangeable shell design. The shell not only adds colors to the stylish Lumia 820 but also handles Qi wireless charging that allows for cable-free charging on a Qi-compatible charging pad. Compare to its predecessor Lumia 800, the phone is more powerful with a Qualcomm SnapDragon S4 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM.

 The Lumia 820 features a 4.3-inch ClearBlack OLED 800×480 touchscreen with Super Sensitive Touch that allows for golve-on touch, Nokia ClearBlack with high brightness mode and Sunlight Readability Enhancements. The 8 Megapixel auto focus camera gets Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED flash and is capable of Full HD 1080p video recording at 30fps. There is also a VGA front-facing camera for video chat. The WP8 smartphone comes with 8GB internal storage and supports microSD/SDHC cards.

Running Windows 8, the Lumia 820 comes with Internet Explorer 10 for faster browsing and Microsoft Office apps. It also includes Nokia City Lens, a new way to explorer surroundings through augmented reality. It will be available in pentaband LTE and HSPA+ variants and will be shipped later this year. You can get the Lumia 820 in red, yellow, grey, cyan, purple, white and black colors.

Elgato EyeTV Peripherals and Accessories - Mobile for iPad/iPhone and EyeTV Micro for Android

Elgato launched two new DVB-T TV Tuners for mobile devices, the smaller EyeTV Mobile for iPhone and iPad, and the EyeTV Micro for Android smartphones and tablets. Both tuners support DVB-T broadcast and comes in ultra-compact form factor. The former connects to iPad or iPhone’s dock connector while the latter uses micro USB port for connection.

The updated EyeTV Mobile works with the new iPad (3rd generation), iPad 2 and iPhone 4S. The EyeTV Micro, designed for Android, replaces the dock connector with micro USB connector. It will work with Android smart devices with a dual-core CPU, NEON support and Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. The EyeTV Micro, thanks to the use of USB, can also be connected to a Mac or Windows computer using the included USB adapter cable for watching DVB-T broadcast on a bigger screen.
The EyeTV Mobile for iPhone/iPad and the EyeTV Micro for Android will be available in September for $99.95 and $69.96, respectively.

AT&T has launched a new Pantech Flex, expanding  its LTE 4G range , the carrier’s first smartphone to provide the option to choose between the traditional Android operating mode and a more simplified version which is ideal for new smartphone users. Running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the handset offers the Easy Experience mode that prioritizes customers’ apps on the home screen in a clearly organized and easy-to-read format. Of course, more advanced users can still use the traditional Android operating mode.

The Pantech Flex includes  a 1.5Ghz dual-core processor. It has a 4.-3inch qHD Super AMOLED touchscreen, a 8 Megapixel main camera with 1080p Full HD video recording, a 2 Megapixel front camera as well as Bluetooth, GPS and WiFi connectivity. The SwiftKey keyboard technology is included for easy, accurate and quick typing.
AT&T will release the Pantech Flex on 16 September for $49.99.

Mobile Phone - Smartphone - Verizon LG Intuition 4G LTE Android Smartphone

Verizon has launched, new LG phone this month, although it's only new to Verizon and the U.S.

The new LG Intuition, a rebranded version of the LG Optimus Vu that has been launched in Korea and Japan earlier this year, will head to Verizon in September for $200 with a two-year contract.


The LG Intuition is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz and 1GB of memory. The 8 Megapixel main camera has LED flash and is capable of Full HD 1080p video recording, continuous shoting to take 6 shots with one tap, panorama. Users can even use voice commands to take pictures. There is also a 1.3 Megapixel front-facing camera for video chat. The 5-inch phablet supports Bluetooth 3.0, GPS and WiFi connectivity and includes Mobile Hotspot capability for sharing 4G LTE connection with up to 10 WiFi-enabled devices. Its SmartShare lets you share media wirelessly to DLNA-enabled devices. NFC (Near Field Communications) is also included and the Intuition comes with LG Tag+ app and two reprogrammable NFC stickers, which can be used to create and switch between different phone modes with a single tap.

The Intuition is shipped with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with LG’s custom UI. Polaris Office suite and a range of Amazon apps such as Kindle, Zappos, IMDB are pre-loaded. It is business ready with enterprise grade security, corporate data encryption with Data-at-Rest Encryption (DARE), secure multi-headed VPN for corporate network connections and remote wipe capability.

LG Intuition vs. Samsung Galaxy Note 2

 

With its massive frame and included stylus, the LG Intuition is in direct competition with the Samsung Galaxy Note line of "phablets."

But with the Galaxy Note 2 finally emerging from its cocoon, the LG Intuition - despite its shiny new name and unique shape - might have trouble standing out.

The Galaxy Note 2 has the LG Intuition beat in almost every way, with a larger, 5.5-inch screen, a more conventional form, a 1.6GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, and Jelly Bean.

Nevertheless, though the LG Intuition's square-ish shape can be awkward, it might be just the ticket for those who prefer a slightly smaller (though still huge) handset, and a cheaper price tag.

The LG Intuition launches Sept. 6 online and Sept. 10 in Verizon stores.
