Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II heading to Verizon in the 'coming weeks' for $130

Verizon Wireless today announced the Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II with a full QWERTY keyboard, 1.2 GHz dual core processor, 4G LTE and Android 4.0, aims to balance business and a rich multimedia experience. Here's more info on this upcoming QWERTY Android phone:

The Stratosphere II offers a number of entertainment features. Users can rent or purchase movies from the Samsung Media Hub that they then can watch right on the Stratosphere II's 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display for high quality video entertainment. S Beam uses near-field communications (NFC) to easily share photos and videos with other compatible devices.

Stratosphere II is Global Ready with the ability to call and email from over 200 countries, has built-in Virtual Private Network (VPN) connectivity when on the road, and supports multi-vendor Mobile Device Management (MDM). With numerous security features like Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and on-device AES 256-bit encryption, the Stratosphere II aims to protect personal and professional information.

The Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II will be available online and in Verizon Wireless Communication Stores in the coming weeks for $129.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.

Nokia Lumia 820 gets 4.3-inch ClearBlack OLED, Changeable Shell, Qi Wireless Charging, Windows Phone 8

Nokia announced the Lumia 820 mid-range smartphone running the Windows Phone 8 operating system. The handset has a uninody look and feel and and features an exchangeable shell design. The shell not only adds colors to the stylish Lumia 820 but also handles Qi wireless charging that allows for cable-free charging on a Qi-compatible charging pad. Compare to its predecessor Lumia 800, the phone is more powerful with a Qualcomm SnapDragon S4 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM.

 The Lumia 820 features a 4.3-inch ClearBlack OLED 800×480 touchscreen with Super Sensitive Touch that allows for golve-on touch, Nokia ClearBlack with high brightness mode and Sunlight Readability Enhancements. The 8 Megapixel auto focus camera gets Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED flash and is capable of Full HD 1080p video recording at 30fps. There is also a VGA front-facing camera for video chat. The WP8 smartphone comes with 8GB internal storage and supports microSD/SDHC cards.

Running Windows 8, the Lumia 820 comes with Internet Explorer 10 for faster browsing and Microsoft Office apps. It also includes Nokia City Lens, a new way to explorer surroundings through augmented reality. It will be available in pentaband LTE and HSPA+ variants and will be shipped later this year. You can get the Lumia 820 in red, yellow, grey, cyan, purple, white and black colors.

AT&T has launched a new Pantech Flex, expanding  its LTE 4G range , the carrier’s first smartphone to provide the option to choose between the traditional Android operating mode and a more simplified version which is ideal for new smartphone users. Running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the handset offers the Easy Experience mode that prioritizes customers’ apps on the home screen in a clearly organized and easy-to-read format. Of course, more advanced users can still use the traditional Android operating mode.

The Pantech Flex includes  a 1.5Ghz dual-core processor. It has a 4.-3inch qHD Super AMOLED touchscreen, a 8 Megapixel main camera with 1080p Full HD video recording, a 2 Megapixel front camera as well as Bluetooth, GPS and WiFi connectivity. The SwiftKey keyboard technology is included for easy, accurate and quick typing.
AT&T will release the Pantech Flex on 16 September for $49.99.

Mobile Phone - Smartphone - Verizon LG Intuition 4G LTE Android Smartphone

Verizon has launched, new LG phone this month, although it's only new to Verizon and the U.S.

The new LG Intuition, a rebranded version of the LG Optimus Vu that has been launched in Korea and Japan earlier this year, will head to Verizon in September for $200 with a two-year contract.


The LG Intuition is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz and 1GB of memory. The 8 Megapixel main camera has LED flash and is capable of Full HD 1080p video recording, continuous shoting to take 6 shots with one tap, panorama. Users can even use voice commands to take pictures. There is also a 1.3 Megapixel front-facing camera for video chat. The 5-inch phablet supports Bluetooth 3.0, GPS and WiFi connectivity and includes Mobile Hotspot capability for sharing 4G LTE connection with up to 10 WiFi-enabled devices. Its SmartShare lets you share media wirelessly to DLNA-enabled devices. NFC (Near Field Communications) is also included and the Intuition comes with LG Tag+ app and two reprogrammable NFC stickers, which can be used to create and switch between different phone modes with a single tap.

The Intuition is shipped with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with LG’s custom UI. Polaris Office suite and a range of Amazon apps such as Kindle, Zappos, IMDB are pre-loaded. It is business ready with enterprise grade security, corporate data encryption with Data-at-Rest Encryption (DARE), secure multi-headed VPN for corporate network connections and remote wipe capability.

LG Intuition vs. Samsung Galaxy Note 2

 

With its massive frame and included stylus, the LG Intuition is in direct competition with the Samsung Galaxy Note line of "phablets."

But with the Galaxy Note 2 finally emerging from its cocoon, the LG Intuition - despite its shiny new name and unique shape - might have trouble standing out.

The Galaxy Note 2 has the LG Intuition beat in almost every way, with a larger, 5.5-inch screen, a more conventional form, a 1.6GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, and Jelly Bean.

Nevertheless, though the LG Intuition's square-ish shape can be awkward, it might be just the ticket for those who prefer a slightly smaller (though still huge) handset, and a cheaper price tag.

The LG Intuition launches Sept. 6 online and Sept. 10 in Verizon stores.
